I have had some experiences that have shown me that people often do not
understand what constitutes fair and legal use of my images, and I'm grateful to
you for coming to this page to find out the details.
My fractals are legally protected and copyrighted as my own artistic works.
They represent hours and hours of labor. I enjoy sharing them, and am grateful when
they, and therefore me, are treated with respect.
You are free to download them for your own enjoyment and use them on your desktop if you wish.
You are not free to download them and alter them, put them on your web page
without permission, distribute them, turn them into "free web decorations," sell them, either printed or in digital form, use them to promote your product or in advertising, or as a part of a commerical project of your own. Any commercial use is prohibited.
Usually I will give permission for
unaltered images to be displayed on personal
web pages provided that they are unchanged, are labeled as mine, and have a clear
link back to my gallery.
They aren't to be used as web page backgrounds, however. In general, I would prefer that you not display more than ten of my images on your web page.

A note about printing:
The size of the images in my gallery won't make a sharp looking print at any size bigger than
about 3 inches by 2 inches. For an 8x10 print that I mat, frame, and sell, I use a file that is 3000x2400. Making a large print from a 640x480 sized file will result in boxy pixels and loss of detail.
